The European Space Agency (ESA) - with the support of Tekes - and Turku Science Park Oy are launching a competition in Finland with the objective to identify the best ideas around space inventions that can be applied and meet challenges in non-space industries having an impact on society and supporting the technology transfer actions in Finland.
Take part to the “Down To Earth Idea Challenge” by submitting your idea, describing how space invention (technology, software, method or process) developed in your organization could generate benefit in non-space industry.
WHO CAN PARTICIPATE?
The competition is open to individual staff members working in Finnish space companies, academia and research Institutes
Hardware, software, process, or method used in space or developed for space needs.
- Attractiveness of Non-Space Market – an estimate of the size of technology's final application/market and its potential value in commercial or societal terms.
- Novelty and Intellectual Property – the novelty and protection of the technology in its non-space application and the consequent competitive advantage.
- Current Development Status – has the space technology been developed sufficiently for a technology transfer to a nonspace application.
