Coordination of national Tekes technology programmes:
New applications and uses of materials 1993-1997
The programme focused on materials for process- and energyindustry; their coatings and surface properties and applications in new demanding products. Participants: 71 companies ans 18 reserach units. Total volume 14 million euros.
Pro Muovi 1998-2001
This Plastic Processing programme was drawn up by the Finnish plastics industry, the universities and Tekes with the aim of improving the competitiveness of companies developing injection moulding, as well as manufacturing and using injection-moulded components. Participants: 39 companies, 10 research units. Total volume 8,5 million euros.
AVALI 2002-2005
The programme was focused on the creation of new business opportunities for technologies, products and services from space-derived technology transferable to terrestrial applications. Participants: 36 companies, 21 research units or public organizations. Total volume 22,3 million euros.
Regional and EU-level projects:
Yritys-ICT
Helped the SMEs to develop and enhance their abilities in using ICT- and eCommerse solutions.
CARDITIS
EU-co-operation project. Developed a cardiac functions simulating data system to be used in medical education purposes.
RAIN
EU-co-operation project. Investigated the best practises and developed a set of guidelines aiming at increasing the regional investments in ICT sector in the Baltic Sea region. Project was chosen as a Region of Knowledge Unit Succes Story.
BRAIN BRIDGES
EU- co-operation project. Developed a coordinated programme enhancing collaborative working environments using information technology solutions.
HIGHWAY
EU-co-operation project. Developed and commercialised mobile services for the road users for improving traffic safety. The foundation in Finnish applications was the road information service of the Finnish Road Enterprise.
EPISTEP
EU-co-operation project. Activated and helped the SMEs to participate in IST European Technology Platforms in the Sixth and Seventh Framework Programme.
KIWI
EU-co-operation project. Developed mobile tools to support knowledge management for the employees of public administration. The Finnish application was an electronic notebook for the municipal home help service. The project was selected as a Commission eGovernment IST Succes Story.
CONNECT
EU-co-operation project. Develops a privacy management platform within pervasive mobile services.
